How do I change the root password on my VPS?

In order to change the root password on your VPS, you can change it by following these steps while logged in to the Billing Platform at https://billing.thathost.ca/:
  1. Click the Services button
  2. Clcik the line of service that you wish to adjust (not the domain name / hostname)
  3. Scroll down until you see the server controls
  4. Click Change Password
  5. Enter a new password and cofirm the password in the provided fields. The system will advise if the password it too weak. A strong password is required.
  6. Click the Change Password button.
  7. Stop the Server by Click the red Power Button.
  8. Wait until the power button goes green and then click the Green Power Button.
  9. Allow the server up to 3 minutes to boot up and sign into the server using the new root password to your favorite SSH client.
