A general ssl certificate is included with our website hosting plans, helping to keep your site and emails from being black-listed by google and other services. E-commerce stores or servers with encryption requirements need more robust encryption certificates in order to protect client information from becoming vulnerable through payment processing, form completion or delivery fulfilment.
Our validated SSL Certificates are small data files that digitally bind a cryptographic key to an organization’s information. After the company is verified and the certificate is installed on a web server, it activates a padlock and the https protocol (over port 443). This creates a secure connection from a web server to a browser
Show your customers and clients that you are trustworthy by protecting your purchases and forms with a more robust SSL Certificate. We work with four different companies to offer tailored solutions to answer your needs.
Green Bar – Additional paperwork is necessary with this level of security. However, the extra layers of validation produce the green address bar on your site, an immediate source of assurance for customers – as soon as they see the green bar, they know your site is secured.
Paperwork Required – Due to the high level of validation provided by Organization Validation (OV), certain paperwork is required before these certificates can be issued. In order to verify the existence of your organization, Comodo must be able to find it listed either in an official government database or a third party database such as Dunn & Bradstreet. If the address on your account does not match the database record, they may use one of the additional documents for address verification. A full list of paperwork and explanation of the validation process provided by Comodo Certificate Authority can be found here. Once you finish the activation process, an email with a list of the exact required documents will be sent to you. If you have questions regarding the validation process, feel free to email firstname.lastname@example.org. Your Comodo Order Number is listed in the subject of the “Welcome email”. Please quote the Order Number in all correspondence with Comodo Validation Team.
Extended Validation –The SSL provider verifies your ownership of the domain name as well as business registration information before issuing the certificate. This provides high assurance to your website visitors.
